Terms

Stetwell is made by John Kirker Inc. These terms cover this website (stetwell.ai), early access to Stetwell, and use of the Stetwell plugin. They are short and plain on purpose; if something here is unclear, ask before you rely on it.

The deal

By using this website or Stetwell, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy page, which is part of them. If you use Stetwell for a business or a client, you agree on its behalf and confirm you may.

Early access

Stetwell is in early access. Seats are offered by invitation, and what is included, and any price, is agreed when a seat is offered. Features may change, appear or be withdrawn while it is in early access. Requesting a seat does not guarantee one.

The software

Stetwell is a WordPress plugin that runs on your own server. The licence that comes with the plugin governs the software itself; these terms govern our service around it (early access, updates, support and the service the plugin reports to). Keep the plugin up to date: updates fix problems and keep its connections working.

Your site, your content, your decisions

  • You own your content. Everything Stetwell drafts for your site is yours, and so is your site’s data. We claim no rights in it.
  • A person decides what is published. Stetwell proposes and drafts; nothing it writes is published until someone with authority on your site approves it, and the software enforces that. What you publish is your responsibility.
  • Check the work. Stetwell builds drafts from your own material, checks facts, prices and claims, and marks what it could not verify. It can still be wrong, and AI-written text can be convincing when it is wrong. Read what you approve.
  • Your accounts and keys. Stetwell uses AI providers, Google, Bing and other services through accounts and keys you provide. Their charges and their terms are between you and them. You are responsible for keeping your keys safe and for your use of those services.
  • Your visitors. If you turn on features that involve your visitors (such as conversion tracking or the visitor chat), you are responsible for telling them and for any consent your law requires.

Sharing with Stetwell

Installed copies of the plugin send us anonymous totals about the site, as described on the Privacy page, so Stetwell can improve for everyone. It is on by default; you can turn it off at any time in the plugin’s settings, and we then delete what we hold for that site. We use these totals only to run and improve Stetwell and to publish combined figures that cannot identify a site.

Fair use

Do not use Stetwell or this website to break the law, to publish content that is deceptive, defamatory or infringes someone else’s rights, to send spam, or to harm anyone. Do not attack, overload, probe or try to get around the security of this website or the service the plugin reports to, and do not send it false reports. We may suspend access for anyone who does.

Results

The figures on this website describe what happened on real sites running Stetwell, measured as each page explains. They are not a promise: search engines and AI systems change, and results on your site will be your own.

Our name and this website

Stetwell and its marks are trademarks of John Kirker Inc. The words, design and images on this website are ours; you may quote and link to them, but not present them as your own.

No warranties

Stetwell and this website are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any draft, suggestion or figure is complete or correct. We will try hard on all of that, and if we ever stop offering Stetwell, we will say so ahead of time.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, John Kirker Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from Stetwell or this website. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for Stetwell in the 12 months before the claim arose, or 100 US dollars if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law allows.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before any claim, we each agree to try to settle it informally, in writing, for at least 30 days. If that fails, claims go to the state or federal courts in Orange County, California.

Changes

When these terms change, the date below changes with them, and if a change matters, we will say so on this website first. Using Stetwell after a change means you accept it.
